BIO
Thomas broke into the world's top 100 for the first time in 2020 and remained there at the end of 2021. He's posted FIVE 2nd place finishes on the European Tour and one on the PGA Tour. He is considered one of the best European Tour members without a win.
In 2016, he set a new record by winning a Challenge Tour event by 12 strokes, which demonstrates his talent. With 18 top 10's between 2017 and 2020 on the European Tour, he can be expected to win in the very near future. Once he gets that win it is likely he will be a future Ryder Cup star for Europe.
Significant info
Thomas has own website where he blogs quite often. This offers a weekly insight into how he's feeling about his game.
Thomas moved to Dubai early in 2021, expect him to post some good results in events in the Middle East as he spends more time practicing out there. He will play a mix of PGA Tour and DP Tour events in 2023.
Pressure Performance Analysis
Summary
Thomas is undoubtedly getting closer to that first win as shown by hs display in Bermuda. Recent efforts have shown improvement but we should expect that win to come from off the pace following his performance at Nedbank. We have set his GBC Pressure Performance Rating to ⭐⭐⭐.
November 2022
❌ Co-led the Nedbank Golf Challenge going into the final round but shot 77 to finish seven shots behind winner Tommy Fleetwood.
October 2022
✅ Began the final round of the Bermuda Championship four behind the leaders. Shot 67 to finish one behind winner Seamus Power.
September 2022
➖ Began the final round of the BMW PGA Championship one shot behind the leaders and shot 69 to finish three shots back of winner Shane Lowry.
July 2021
✅ Thomas would lose out in a playoff at the Scottish Open. A final round 67 was a good effort as he was joint leader going into the final round. Holed a clutch putt on the 72nd hole to get into the playoff.
June 2021
➖ Began the final round of the Porsche European Open two shots behind Matthew Southgate. Shot 69 to finish 2nd to Armitage by two shots. A better effort.
January 2021
❌ Led the Dubai Desert Classic by one shot after 36 holes and shot +2 to end the day seven shots behind Paul Casey who took 10 shots less than him.
November 2020
✅ Finished 4th in the final round of the Cyprus Showdown where the last 16 all started at level par.
November 2020

August 2020

2nd place at Bermuda with 18 under par in 2022. In 2021, the 2nd place finish at the Scottish Open was low scoring. Four best finishes in 2020 were scores of -15 or better (including Cyprus Showdown).
Unpredictable
2nd at Bermuda in 2022 followed average form. Both 2nd place finishes in 2021 followed mediocre performances the week before, as was the case in 2020. The same in 2018 when his best two finishes (3rd place at KLM Open and 3rd at Turkish Airlines Open) followed missed cuts.
Playoff Record
0-1. Thomas lost out to Min Woo Lee at the 2021 Scottish Open.
