Significant Info To Be Aware Of

The PGA used to stop at The Greenbrier Resort for the Greenbrier Classic. This event was held between 2010-2019. Joaquin Niemann, Danny Lee and Kevin Na are all winners of that event.

The course should be familiar to over half the field, 27 players have played events at Greenbrier before.

Stenson was 13th at The Open Championship in his last competitive start, ranking 4th for SG:Approach. He's finished I side the top 10 in 2 of his last 3 LIV starts and appears to be rounding into some form. If he can carry that Open ball striking into this week he will be a lively contender on a course that rewards quality approach play. He's worth an investment at anything 33/1 or better this week.
1pt Each Way Pat Perez 55/1 @ Bet365 (1/4 -1-5)

Perez largely struggled when he first joined LIV last year, it seemed like he was just happy to take his pay day and go through the motions. However, things look like they're starting to pick up with Perez apparently working hard on his game in recent months. A 6th place finish in London on his last start is evidence of this whilst he finished 3rd in Adelaide and 7th in Mayakoba earlier this year. He also boasts a strong course record - 22nd, 6th, 27th and 9th in his last five starts here.
0.75pts Each Way Danny Lee 66/1 @ Skybet/Unibet 1/5 -1-5)

Lee is a former winner at this course back in 2015 so will have marked this down as one of his best chances in the LIV season. Finishes of 16th and 9th either side of that win confirm his love of the course, the 16th place coming after a run of poor form. He arrives this week in similar poor form, failing to break the top 30 in his last four LIV starts, but his win at LIV Tuscon earlier this year also came out of the blue and he is a player who can turn it on if the test suits.

Back or Lay The Favourite?

Bryson DeChambeau and Talor Gooch are the 5/1 favourites going into the final round but neither makes any appeal with 12 players within three shots of the lead. Both players are expected to contend but neitehr offer any real value and we are prepared to look at others.

In-Play LIV Golf Greenbrier Bets We Considered

The players at nine under par are all 28/1 or better and it's not inconceivable that one of them makes a run at the title. If Wolff and Puig struggle, those players are only two shots back of the group at eleven under par and a low round coudl see them snatch the title from off the pace.

Round 3 Bet

We were tempted to put a bet on Sebastian Munoz at 28/1 but we backed Charles Howell yesterday and he coudl well spring a shock. His win at LIV Mayakoba came when shooting eight under par in the final round and a similar effort tomorrow would see him go close. if you weren't on at 33/1 yesterday, you may wish to have a small bet on him. Only Harold Varner has hit more greens than Howell.

Harold Varner is the 13/2 favourite but he makes little appeal with a stacked leaderboard. Varner is clearly comfortable at Old White and has plenty of local support but others are preferred at this stage.

The 10/1 on Matthew Wolff with Unibet/bet Rivers certainly made appeal but that price is an outlier in the market and the general 7/1 certainly made less appeal.

Round 2 Bet

1pt Each Way Charles Howell 33/1 @ Coral/Ladbrokes (1/4 1-4)

Howell was on our shortlist pre-event but poor recent form put us off and he was omitted from our selections. However, he has started with a round of 66 and ranked 2nd for Greens in Regulation when shooting that score. He showed just how hot he can get with the putter when winning LIV Mayakoba at the start of the year and he's too big at 33/1.
