Winning score
Matthew Baldwin won with -18 last year but it should be noted he won by 7 shots!
Winning scores on the Sunshine Tour were -17 and -15 for the 72 hole events. The Vodacom Origins of Golf event was a 54 hole event and won with a score of -13. We should expect a score between -14 and -18.
Recent form
Baldwin was T60 in his last start at Kenya and T30 the week prior in India. Runner up Adri Arnaus was T30 on last start in Kenya. We therefore want to consider those who played last week in Kenya, preferably making the cut.
SDC Championship Stats Analysis
Matthew Baldwin ranked 12th off the tee - a combination of 1st for driving accuracy and 19th for driving distance. He was 4th for GIR and 14th for SG: Approach. A tidy short game completed a dominant performance - 8th SG: Putting and 20th SG: Around the green.
We don't have stats from the events played at St Francis on the Sunshine Tour but we can look at the profiles of the winners to gather some clues.

Distance appears to be advantageous with two of the three course winners (Ruan Korb and Dean Burmester) ranking inside the top 10 in Driving Distance for 2022/23 on the Sunshine Tour. George Coetzee is no slouch off the tee either and so distance off the tee is favoured.
Greens in Regulation
None of the three course winners ranked inside the top 30 in the season long Greens in Regulation stats for 2021/22 (there are no stats for 2022/23 for Burmester and Coetzee).

Fast or Slow Start
Baldwin was three behind after round one and four behind at halfway. He was, however, four ahead after 54 holes!
Dean Burmester was 16th after the opening round of the 2021 PGA Championship, six shots off the pace. Conversely, George Coetzee was first round leader when winning here at the 2022 PGA Championship.

Once again conditions will be dry with the wind set to blow between 18-20mph in the afternoon.
Round 4 Outright Market Summary
Connor Syme edges favouritism at 15/8 from Daniel Brown (12/5), having shot a third round 67 to tie Brown at the top. We won't be backing Syme at those odds given he has yet to win on the DP World Tour and has yet to fully convince when in contention.
Daniel Brown closed with three birdies in his final five holes and will take plenty of momentum into the final round. He would be preferred to Syme at the prices but given this is the DP World Tour, we can expect plenty of drama in the final round!
Eye Catching Niche Market Prices
Nick Bachem to beat James Nicholas (Round 4 Match Bet) 9/10 @ Bet Victor
Nicholas has yet to record a top 10 finish as a professional in 56 starts in ranking events and is likely to feel the pressure in tomorrow's final round. In contrast, he is up against a DP World Tour winner in Bachem who has shown himself to be a solid closer of events. Bacem posted a top 20 finish in this event last year and is expected to have too much for the American.

2024 SDC Championship Round 3 Weather Bias?
Another day of 20mph+ winds are expected with the wind slightly calmer between 7-10am.
Round 3 Outright Market Summary
Daniel Brown's finish to round two has changed the complexion the event, playing his last six holes in five under par to take a three shot lead. Brown is no stranger to a healthy halfway lead, he held a five shot lead after 36 holes for his sole DP victory at Galgorm and actually increased that lead to six before the final round.
Also in his favour is the strength of his nearest chasers. Shaun Norris is the most accomplished out of the top five but has been largely out of form and not looked the same player recently. The other three are all ranked outside the top 600 in the world and have a lot at stake. Connor Syme and Tom McKibbin, who are 5/6 shots behind, rate are the nearest 'big names'. It's not often we say a 15/8 shot is value at this stage, but in this case Brown just might be.

Tom McKibbin Top 5 Finish 9/5 @ Skybet - This looks a generous price at Skybet, with most places priced up around the 7/5 mark. McKibbin has been ultra consistent this season and his ball striking is superior to those ahead of him currently. Take advantage of this price if you have Skybet access.

It's fairly wide open with six players between 9/1 and 14/1 at the front of the market. Connor Syme is marginal favourite but we can't accept that given he has yet to get over the line despite many opportunities. Baldwin was three behind after round one last year and we shouldn't dismiss anyone under par.
