Winning score
In the seven times Himerland has hosted the winning score has ranged from -9 to -21. The last two events have saw the lowest ever winning score of -21.
Winning Profile
Wilson was ranked 745th in the world. Wiesberger was 65th in the world rankings prior to his win last year. In 2019 he was 378th and his win was the first of three wins that season. in 2017, Julian Suri was 208th and had already won a Challenge Tour event that season. The three champions before them, Thomas Pieters, David Horsey and Marc Warren were 56th, 263rd and 89th. With the exception of Julian Suri, every player had won before on the European Tour.
Correlating Courses
The Renaissance could be used as a guide with Wiesberger's success at both. As could the Alfred Dunhill Links which Wilson is a winner of both. The Albatross Golf Course in Czech Republic may be worth some digging too - Pieters has an excellent record there and Julian Suri has form in Czech Republic also.
Course form
Wilson had a strong course record with 4th in his last start and all made cuts. Wiesberger successfully defended his title last year but prior to that course form hasn't been that important. Wiesberger won on his debut in 2019, as did Julian Suri in 2017. Pieters had a previous 35th before his win and Horsey had a previous 39th. Preferred but not essential.
Recent form
Wilson had been having a poor year but had been making cuts prior to his win without doing anything special. Wiesberger arrived last year in very average form, his three previous starts being MC-34-40. The year before he had form figures of 70-14-23. Winner in 2017, Julian Suri, hadn't played in weeks but was 16th on his last start. Pieters arrived hot after a 2nd and 4th. Preferred but not essential.
Nationality
No nationality has dominated here in recent years.
Stats Analysis
The course had some changes for the 2019 edition so we will assess the stats for the top three in 2019, top two in 2021 and top two in 2022.
Driving Distance
Last year the top two ranked 15-33. In 2021 they ranked 71-22. In 2019 the top three ranked 87-91-19. Not a key stat this week but as always it helps.
Driving Accuracy
Last year the top two ranked 62-131 In 2021 they ranked 46-141. In 2019 the top three ranked 44-27-12. Driving Accuracy helps but isn't essential.
SG: Off the Tee
Last year the top two ranked 25-21. In 2021 they ranked 12-36. In 2019 the top three ranked 99-12-19. Prefer a strong driver but not essential.
SG: Approach
Last year the top two ranked 13-3. In 2021 they ranked 3-16. In 2019 the top three ranked 3-15-54. Strong iron play has been the key to success at Himmerland
SG: Around the greens
Last year the top two ranked 15-17. In 2021 they ranked 29-80. In 2019 the top three ranked 44-98-61. Recently, a tidy short game has helped.
SG: Putting
Last year the top two ranked 16-46. In 2021 they ranked 28-6. In 2019 the top three ranked 40-11-8. Strong putting helps but isn't essential.
Made in Himmerland In Play Tips
Tough Holes
The 12th played as the hardest hole, the 13th and 18th ranked as the hardest holes the edition.
Birdie Holes
The 4th, 5th, 8th and 14th played the easiest in 2022.
Fast or Slow Start
Bernd Wiesberger led from start to finish last year. Thomas Pieters also led after round one in 2016. Every course winner in the last five years has been inside the top 20 after round one. We don't want to look too far down the leaderboard after day one.
The last four course winners have all been inside the top eight after round two and each of those winners came from the final group in round four.
Closing stretch
16th is a short par 3 followed by a shortish par 4 on 17. The 18th was stroke index 2 in 2022.

2023 Made in Himmerland Round 3 Summary
Nacho Elvira stood on the 18th tee with a three shot lead but sliced his tee shot into the water and was only able to salvage a double bogey. Elvira now leads by one shot going into the final round.
2023 Made in Himmerland Round 3 Quotes
“I did play really well,” Elvira said after a four-under-par round of 66. The 18th tee shot was a bad swing and I can take a bad swing. It’s okay, it’s a good round of golf. I haven’t been putting great this season and it seems this week, it’s working out my way. I’m hitting it really well so I’m leaving myself closer chances for birdie, which helps a lot. I’m very pleased with my putting.” Nacho Elvira
“That bogey hurt on four, especially where the pin was and being in the middle of the fairway,” he said. You’ve just got to to be patient and positive, the two Ps, just kept that in my mind and luckily I had a nice par five coming up. Chip missed there for eagle, made birdie which just boosted the confidence. Went on a nice little run from there and felt really good." Richie Ramsay
Sunny. Wind 8-12mph.
Back or Lay The Favourite?
Robert MacIntyre is the 7/4 favourite and he looks the man to beat. Nacho Elvira blocked several of his tee shots to the right on the closing holes of his final round and it remains to be seen whether he can rectify his driving for the final round.
MacIntyre won in Italy last year when coming from off the pace and he's certainly shown to be a better chaser than front runner. With a bit more wind forecast for the final round, he's not a bet for us at 7/4 though.
The last three winners of this event have been leading after 54 holes but we wouldn't rule out a low round from someone coming from off the pace.
In-Play Made In Himmerland Bets We Considered
Richie Ramsay bogeyed his final hole in round three but he has a great chance of winning tomorrow and we're happy to have him onside at 70/1 from before the start of the tournament. Odds of 4/1 are fair, especially with conditions likely to be a little tougher.
With the course firming up and the wind likley to be more of a factor, Soren Kjeldsen was under consideration to beat Nick Bachem in a mythical 18 hole match up with Bet365. The veteran Dane has outscored Bachem in each of the last two rounds and can be backed at 10/11 to make it three in a row tomorrow.

2023 Made in Himmerland Round 2 Summary
Easier scoring conditions saw improved scoring and Nacho Elvira was the man who capitalised. The Spaniard fired a best of the day 62 to open up a one shot lead going into the weekend.
2023 Made in Himmerland Round 2 Quotes
“It was solid. Really good opening nine. The putter just went a wee bit cold on the back nine but, all-in-all, it was solid after yesterday’s round to come out and shoot a reasonable number. I don’t think the wind is going to be as strong tomorrow, not sure about Sunday but just got to keep doing the same stuff." Robert MacIntyre
“If you go straight across the water, you’re going to hit Scotland. So in regards to conditions, wind, temperature, it’s very similar to what we’re used to. The ball flies the distance we think it should do because you’re used to it and I think we see shapes a little bit more. We don’t see dead straight shots, if that makes sense, so we’re used to the ball moving in the wind.” Richie Ramsay
2023 Made In Himmerland Round 3 Weather
Sunny. Wind 5-10mph.
Back or Lay The Favourite?
Robert MacIntyre remains favourite, having shortened slightly to 9/4. The Scot ranks third in SG: Tee to Green through the opening two rounds and certainly appears to be comfortable with the way he's hitting the ball.
MacIntyre remains a fraction short in the betting though and we're happy to look past him in the betting.
In-Play Made In Himmerland Bets We Considered
We're on Richie Ramsay pre-event at 70/1 and he's the man we would be looking to get onside were we not already on him.
Daan Huizing made appeal to beat Freddy Schott in their round three two ball but odds of 5/6 were a fraction short.

2023 Made in Himmerland Round 1 Summary
Ross Fisher set the pace with a 66 in tougher morning conditions, closely followed by Daan Huizing with a 67. Rasmus Hojgaard led for much of the round but two bogeys in his last four holes meant he could only shoot 68. The afternoon starters scored well too though, Robert MacIntyre and Nick Bachem both scoring well. MacIntyre leads going into the second round though and he is the man to beat.
2023 Made In Himmerland Round 2 Weather
Partly sunny and warmer. Wind 10-20mph.
Back or Lay The Favourite?
Robert MacIntyre is the respected 16/5 favourite but there's plenty of golf left to play in difficult conditions and we're happy to consider those further down the betting.
In-Play Made In Himmerland Bets We Considered
With the wind set to play it's part tomorrow, we are only looking at long odds prices with each way potential.
