Winning Score
Since the Championship moved to Autumn in 2019 we have had winning scores of -17, -18 -19 (twice) and -20. However, 2022'a winning score of -17 was only a three round event. Expect a score in the mid teens to prevail this week.
Course Form
Seven of the last nine winners had posted a top 8 finish here prior to winning. Course form is very important.
Recent Form
Interestingly, three of the past six winners had missed the cut on their last start before teeing it up at the BMW PGA Championship. However, all six had at least one top 25 finish in their last two starts.
World Ranking
The world ranking of the past six champions has been 23-28-15-60-33-13.
Nationality
Five of the past ten winners were British or Irish so they are favoured slightly but no significant emphasis on nationality.

Tough Holes
The 17th and 2nd holes played as the hardest holes in 2023. Keep this in mind if you are betting in-play.
Birdie Holes
Three of the four par 5s (4th, 12th and 18th) play well under par and were the easiest on the course in 2023. Interestingly, the par three 2nd and 14th holes were the easiest holes after the three par 5s mentioned.
Fast or Slow Start
Every winner in the last seven years has been inside the top 30 after the opening round. Indeed, four of those seven winners were inside the top 5 after the opening round. Round 4 Outright Market Summary
Rory McIlroy has lost favouritism to Matteo Manassero after a superb 63 by the Italian. Manassero was impressive earlier this year when shooting a 66 after holding a one shot lead in South Africa. He was solid enough last week when 2nd after 54 holes too, so we shouldn't expect a collapse tomorrow.
If that's the case, someone is going to have to go low to beat him and he has two big dangermen in Rory McIlroy and Billy Horschel tucked in behind. It may just suit Rory better having to chase whilst Billy Horschel didn't do a lot wrong in the Open Championship when leading after round three.
It's a tough one to call and looks even tougher for the rest of the chasing pack - there has only been one winner from outside the top five in the last seven years.

Round 2 Outright Market Summary
Rory McIlroy has narrowly shortened to 3/1 after a solid round but he has lost ground on the leader and is now three shots back. In his favour are the fact the leaders are fairly untested at this level. Baldwin, Moller and Rozner are all DP World Tour winners but they have never challenged for an event of this size. The more established group of Matteo Manassero, Billy Horschel and Tommy Fleetwood are also lurking too and we still can't see any value in McIlroy's price given recent near misses.
It should be said though that only two winners in the last seven years has been outside the top 5 at halfway, suggesting we shouldn't be looking too far down the leaderboard. Fox was one of those two and he was still only three shots back. However, given Baldwin is leading by two, things may change every fast tomorrow.

Round 2 Outright Market Summary
Rory McIlroy may have dropped a shot at the last when hitting a ball out of bounds but his score of 67 was enough to ensure he retained favouritism after round one of the BMW PGA Championship. Playing the last five holes in one over par was perhaps an indicator of McIlroy's fitness given he was suffering from a cold at the start of the week but he is off to a fine start and looks to be the man to beat. A past winner at Wentworth, and with four top ten finishes in his last four starts, we certainly expect him to be challenging for the title on Sunday.
However, with this being the flagship event on the DP World Tour, there are plenty of capable players in and around the lead and the 7/2 on McIlroy makes little appeal at this stage. The Northern Irishman threw away a golden opportunity to win in front of his home fans last week and there are far more enticing prices around.
