2021 Pre-Event Profit: +176.21pts
2021 In-Play Profit: +53.22pts
2021 Overall Profit: +229.43pts
The 2021 season has come to an end and we're pleased to say it's been another profitable one, both for pre-event tips and in-play selections. With over 229pts profit for the year, it's pleasing to be able to record yet more green figures to our Tipping Record.
Particular highlights were Cameron Champ's 125/1 win at the 3M Open, Kristoffer Broberg's 100/1 win at the Dutch Open, 70/1 Sam Burns winning the Valspar Championship and Garrick Higgo winning the Gran Canaria Open at 35/1.
We even ended the season on a high by landing Viktor Hovland at 11/1 at the Hero World Challenge. Hovland's win was particularly pleasing given events the week before at the Joburg Open. When it was cancelled after 36 holes we had two of the top three in the betting and the leader was looking vulnerable. It was therefore pleasing to get a little rub of the green to end the year.
And yet we find ourselves slightly disappointed with the past 12 months. It's not often you bemoan a profitable year but we certainly feel Lady Luck deserted us on a number of Sundays. Only two of our seven third round leaders went on to win and we were even on Collin Morikawa on one of the few times he disappointed on a Sunday (Tournament of Champions) in 2021!
A significant number of our triple figure selections had disastrous final rounds and didn't even place when in great positions. Carlos Ortiz at the Farmers, Richy Werenski at the American Express and Eddie Pepperell at the British Masters spring to mind but there were others too. It was particularly disappointing that those players mentioned were all past winners on their respective Tours. However, these things have a way of balancing out over time and we look forward to seeing what 2022 brings us.
The end of the year is probably a good time to reflect on how we've performed since setting up Golf Betting Club in June 2020. We're almost 18 months into the journey and since launch we are up over 594 points. That's a very healthy ROI of 32%. Remember, those figures don't include any of the Six To Watch winners (275/1 Martin Laird, 66/1 Romain Langasque, 40/1 John Catlin, 33/1 Robert MacIntyre etc) we gave last year as these were not staked bets.
We've got a busy off season ahead as we look to update our existing Player Profiles ahead of the New Year. We are hoping to add another 50 profiles by the time the players tee off again in a few weeks.
One of the highlights for us in 2021 was the upgrade of our website. We plan to continue to improve the website in 2022 and look to continually improve the service we offer. You'll see more regular blog content and an increased presence on social media in the coming 12 months.
All that's left to say is thank you for your continued support. A particular thank you to those of you who placed your faith in us by subscribing this past year. A further thanks to those of you who donate, follow us on social media or read this website, we appreciate it all.
We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year when it comes!
